The terminal degree in advanced nursing practice ensures practitioners have the highest experience, training, and qualifications. These programs focus on leadership development within clinical settings and give students the skills required to implement changes where necessary. They become authorized to translate scientific evidence into direct patient care and adapt education, health systems, policy and more. The improvement of healthcare outcomes is critically important in the nursing industry, and doctoral graduates are responsible for assisting in this achievement. Accredited online programs are available nationwide but there is currently only one school offering a DNP program in South Dakota.
