Nurses in the state of South Dakota who desire more out of their career may want to consider participating in one of the MSN programs in South Dakota. These programs enable nurses to take on higher-paying jobs and specialize in areas they’re interested in. Just a few of the titles that can be earned with an MSN include family nurse practitioner, nurse midwife and family nurse anesthetist. Programs typically last between 2 and 6 years, depending upon the amount of time a student has to devote to them.
It can be difficult to pin down the salary for an MSN holder in the state of South Dakota, because these professionals can hold several different titles. However, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports salary findings for several professions, and in May of 2012, the annual median salary for a nurse practitioner was $88,380. This is just one of the titles possible with an MSN. Another is the nurse anesthetist, and the annual median salary for that profession was $162,980. Salary can be affected by experience, location within the state and more.
