Schools With BSN Programs in Vermont

Castleton State College offers up two different options for individuals who want to earn their BSN: the traditional four-year Bachelor’s degree program and the complete program for registered nurses who already possess an Associate’s degree or a diploma degree. The BSN program combines classroom instruction and clinical experiences with the on-site virtual lab in order to train students to become the best possible registered nurses. Those who complete the program will be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses

An excellent four-year Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing program is offered at Norwich University. This program offers a very strict curriculum sequence and limited enrollment, so students are only admitted in the fall of each year. The program combines classroom learning with clinical instruction in healthcare settings throughout the community. Those who complete the program can sit for the NCLEX-RN examination.

Southern Vermont College offers a traditional BSN program as well as an RN to BSN program for registered nurses who have their Associate’s degree or a diploma. The traditional track is a brand new program, seeking CCNE accreditation as of 2014.

The University of Vermont allows students to earn their BSN degrees through an excellent nursing program. Students begin clinical experiences in their second year and accumulate more than 600 hours of direct supervision clinical experience. The graduates of the program boast a 92% first-time NCLEX-RN pass rate. In addition to the traditional option, U of V also offers an RN to BSN program for registered nurses who want to further their education.

Earn your MSN degree from one of the accredited, board-approved nursing programs in the state of Vermont.
Sit for the NCLEX-RN examination.
Apply for your RN license through the Vermont Board of Nursing and include the required $90 application fee. Be sure to have all college transcripts, background check results and any other required information sent to the board.
Maintain your license by renewing every 2 years and including the $140 renewal fee.
