Nurses in the state of North Dakota who further their education by earning a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing open up a plethora of new opportunities for themselves. This degree is required for nurses to step into advanced roles within the industry, as well as to become administrators or teachers. Schools With MSN Programs in North Dakota

The Department of Nursing at North Dakota State University allows individuals to earn an MSN if they already hold a BSN degree from an accredited college or university. This particular program trains students to take on roles as Nurse Educators. Applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0, and must hold a valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Dakota.

Those in the Bismarck area can take advantage of the University of Mary Division of Nursing, which offers the traditional MSN program in addition to the RN to MSN bridge program. With the bridge program, registered nurses who have a diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing can earn their Master’s of Science in Nursing Degree to become Nurse Administrators. Those participating in the traditional program can choose from three specializations: Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Administrator, and Nurse Educator. This school also offers an MSN/MBA dual degree program.

The University of North Dakota College of Nursing gives individuals the chance to earn their MSN degree and choose from a variety of specializations, including: Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Public Health Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthesia, Nurse Educator or Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Applicants will only be considered for the program if they hold a BSN degree from an accredited college or university and have an undergraduate Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.

Obtain a license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of North Dakota.
Enter your desired MSN degree program, and specialize in your chosen branch of nursing.
Fulfill any supervised clinical hours requirements before completing the MSN program.
