Schools With BSN Programs in Tennessee

  • Tennessee State University offers a traditional BSN degree that teaches students core nursing concepts, health problem analysis, communication, and community advocacy. Those who have completed all required prerequisites may apply for the program but must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale in prerequisite courses. Individuals who complete the program will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination.
  • Located in Nashville, Belmont University gives individuals the opportunity to earn their BSN degree in the traditional route or in the RN to BSN bridge program. The traditional option is a four-year program; during the first two years, students complete prerequisites and get introduced to nursing concepts and clinical experiences. During the last two years, students will primarily learn various types of nursing. This school has consistently high NCLEX-RN first-time pass rates and strives to train students to become qualified, capable nurses.
  • Lipscomb University offers up an excellent BSN program which is divided into four semesters of prerequisites and four semesters of upper-division nursing courses. Upon completion of the prerequisites, students must formally apply to the nursing program in order to start the lab, classroom and clinical experiences and earn their BSN degree. After graduating, they are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination.
  • At Trevecca Nazarene Universityindividuals can earn a traditional BSN which involves two years of prerequisite credits and then two years of core nursing credits. The program is fully accredited and approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Those who complete the program will have an excellent foundation for graduate-level degrees and will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN examination.

  • Enroll in an accredited and board-approved nursing program in Tennessee and earn your BSN degree.
  • Pass the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses.
  • Apply for your Registered Nurse (RN) license through the Tennessee Board of Nursing and include the required application fee.
  • Maintain your license by earning ten hours of continued education credits every 2 years, and renew your license every 2 years.
